Ideas for Mobility Solutions
Citizen Ideas session
As part of the Ideas for Mobility Solutions : Citizen Ideas session we invite college students and citizens of India (18 years and above) to share innovative and practical solutions for addressing transportation challenges in the city.
The focus areas are:
Public Transportation
Cycling
Walking
We are looking for ideas that are socially acceptable, technically sound, financially viable, and aligned with good transportation practices, while keeping in mind the unique conditions and realities of Guwahati.
A panel will review the submissions, and the best 2–3 ideas will be selected. The selected individuals/teams will get the opportunity to present their ideas before an audience of government officials, academics, entrepreneurs, and civil society representatives during Purvca Samvad. While there are no prizes, this platform will allow promising ideas to be noticed by people who can support their further development.
Who can participate?
Participation is open to college students and general citizens above 18 years of age. We are not inviting experts or academic research papers – the focus is on fresh, practical ideas from everyday users.
Is there any registration or joining fee?
No, there is no joining fee. Participation is completely free.
Do I need to be an Indian citizen to participate?
Yes, only Indian citizens are eligible since the focus is on Guwahati and Northeast India’s mobility challenges. Preference will be given to people from North East India.
Can people of all genders participate?
Absolutely. The competition is open to all genders without restriction.
Can I submit as part of a team?
Yes, you may participate individually or as a team of up to 2–3 people.
What type of ideas are expected?
Ideas should focus on either Public Transportation or Walking or Cycling in Guwahati.
How will ideas be evaluated?
Ideas will be evaluated on the basis of being socially acceptable, technically sound, financially viable, and contextually relevant for Guwahati. Ideas will be shortlisted based on innovation, feasibility, social acceptability, and impact. The best 2–3 ideas will be selected for presentation.
Are there prizes for selected participants?
No prizes will be awarded. However, selected participants will get an opportunity to present their ideas at Purvca Samvad in front of government officials, academics, civil society, and incubators who may support feasible ideas further.
Will travel, food, or lodging be provided?
No, participants must arrange their own travel, stay, and meals if selected.
How do I submit my idea?
Submissions must be made through the Google Form link provided below. Only online entries will be accepted.
What format should I follow for submission?
Your idea should be described clearly in not more than 1000–1200 words. You may also attach simple diagrams, presentations, sketches, or visuals if necessary.
Who makes the final decision on selection?
The decision of the selection committee from Purvca Foundation will be final and binding.
What is the deadline for submission?
25th October 2025, Saturday till 11:59 PM. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Can I submit more than one idea?
Yes, but each submission must be made separately through the form.
Is there any word limit for specifying the idea?
Yes, while filling out the Google Form, you should describe your idea in not more than 300–400 words. This ensures clarity and allows fair evaluation of all submissions.
Who owns the rights to the ideas submitted?
Participants will retain full ownership and credit for their ideas. Purvca Foundation and its partners will only use the ideas for discussion and learning purposes during the event.
Will participants receive a certificate?
Yes, all selected presenters will receive a Certificate from Purvca Foundation.
Can I present my selected idea online?
The event is fully in-person (offline) and there are no opportunities to present ideas online. Selected participants will need to be present at the venue on 7th November 2025.
What is the expected audience size?
We expect participation from around 150–200 people.
How much time will be allowed to make the presentation?
Each selected participant/team will get 8–10 minutes to present their idea, followed by a short interaction with the audience (if time permits).
What language can I present in?
Presentations can be made in English, Hindi, or Assamese.
